Stepping out of the “writer only” shadows was a challenge for me. I felt like I was missing something that I couldn’t quite focus on when it came to showcasing my craft to the audience. Now everything’s changed, and I’m proud to say that I’m working on actual projects with the first being My World in the Clouds mixtape. It took a lot of work for me to get to this point in my journey. Many people were asking how I sound like, so as a gift from me to you I released this raw cover track. A few people have been asking me what music I’ve been working on lately. Right now I’m currently working on an original song collection for my thesis. In the past few weeks I’ve gained so much knowledge. I’m learning things about songwriting that I never knew, like there being several forms of songwriting. You see I’ve always written songs from my heart. I made them a certain way because its how I wanted to release my emotions through music; they sounded good to my ear. Like I told you guys before I’ve never learned music theory until I came to UT Dallas. Even now its hard to grasp entirely, but I’ve realized the more I’m around it the better I get. Been a while since I posted here. I’ve been busy for the past year. This semester I’m happy to say I’ll hopefully be graduating with a BA in Arts and Performance at UT Dallas. Hey guys!
Queen n Ivy here! It’s been awhile since I posted so I wanted to update you guys what I’ve been working on. This past May I helped a film major, Silvia Luicia, with a film for her senior thesis project. I wrote and recorded some poetry so she could put into her film and she ended up getting the best documentary award in her class (still amazed!). Once its shared online I’ll be able to share it with you all. I’ve been on this FL Studio demo and I’m getting the hang of how to use it. So far the beats I’ve produced are RIDICULOUS.
Now for the main dish (drum roll) … I received my first feature opportunity a couple weeks ago with JYZE called “Goin’ Down”. I’ll definitely post a link when its released. Thank you all for the love as I grow on this unbelievable journey! It is not over yet!
